Dr. Daniel Ohanian - Fellow in Translation

Dr. Daniel Ohanian holds a PhD in history from the University of California, Los Angeles, an MA from Istanbul Bilgi University in Turkey, and an MA and BA from York University in Canada. His research focuses on the Armenian population of the Ottoman Empire from 1660 onward. As the Armenian Institute’s inaugural Fellow in Translation, he is translating the eighteenth-century travelogue of Hovhannes Tovmajanian from Classical Armenian into English. He is co-founder of Gesaria Armenian Research and Academic Services.
