A few words for the benefit of our readers.... I first qualified as an architect. Then I completed my training in the field of town planning (post graduate diploma in urban geography at Paul Valery university of Montpellier France) and specialised in tourist development at the C.I.A.T (the international tourist development center) in Montpellier France. While training as an architect I became interested in Armenian architecture mainly thanks to the most excellent small monographs published by Milan University Italy. Further to a lot of trips to Armenia the idea of a book dedicated to monuments beyond the scope of crowds of tourists, whose results is under your eyes, gained ground. I would like you to overlook the few lacunas you will be sure to see in those pages concerning the missing maps and photos of the mentioned buildings.
